IP address tools
IP Lookup
Look up an IPv4 or IPv6 address: version, approximate location, ASN, network organisation, reverse hostname and RDAP registration data.
Subnet Calculator
Calculate network address, broadcast address, usable host range, subnet mask, wildcard mask and binary representation for any IPv4 subnet.
CIDR Calculator
Convert CIDR notation to an IP address range, get the address count, and check whether a given IP falls inside a CIDR block.
IP Converter
Convert IPv4 addresses between dotted-decimal, hexadecimal and binary, and expand or compress IPv6 addresses.
Speed Test
Measure your download speed, upload speed, latency and jitter to Cloudflare’s network, right in your browser.
DNS tools
DNS Lookup
Query A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA and CAA records for any domain using DNS-over-HTTPS, with full TTL and record detail.
Reverse DNS
Look up the PTR record for an IPv4 or IPv6 address to find its reverse hostname.
Email DNS Check
Check a domain’s MX, SPF and DMARC records, and DKIM for a given selector, with plain-English explanations of common misconfigurations.
DNS Health Check
Scan a domain for common DNS problems: missing or unresolvable name servers, SOA timer issues, apex record problems, broken MX targets, missing CAA and more.
Domain & security tools
WHOIS Lookup
Look up registration data for a domain, IPv4/IPv6 address or ASN using RDAP, the structured successor to legacy WHOIS.
HTTP Headers
View your own request headers, or safely inspect the response headers, status code and redirect chain of any public URL.
SSL Checker
Check a website’s SSL/TLS certificate details, including issuer, validity dates and days remaining until expiry.
Port Checker
Check whether a single TCP port on a host is open, with strict abuse-prevention limits — no range scanning.
Ping Check
Test reachability and latency to a host with a TCP-based ping — reports minimum, average and maximum round-trip time and packet loss.
Understanding your IP address
Every device connected to the internet is assigned an IP (Internet Protocol) address — a numeric label that lets other computers know where to send data back to. The address shown above is your public IP address: the one your router or ISP presents to the wider internet, which is usually different from the private address (like 192.168.1.20) used inside your home or office network.
Your IP address can reveal your approximate ISP and general geographic area, which is how services localise content or estimate your region. It does not, on its own, reveal your name, precise address, or identity — that information is held by your Internet Service Provider and is only disclosed through a lawful request.
Why check your IP address?
- Confirming a VPN or proxy is active and working as expected.
- Diagnosing network or connectivity issues.
- Whitelisting an address for remote access, firewall rules or admin panels.
- Checking which IPv4/IPv6 address a device is using before configuring DNS or port forwarding.
